Arrow What is the best way to differentiate difficulties?

I think a lot of people do not enjoy how the AI behaves on different difficulties, but what would be ideal when choosing between Rookie, All Pro, etc.?

Should they be smarter, less time in pocket, better coverage, ratings boosts, a combination of everything?

Re: What is the best way to differentiate difficulties?

I think it requires a variety of adjustments across each difficulty level.

One of the main issues I have is the secrecy to what exactly is happening between levels; knowing would make it easier to accept certain outcomes and events.

If there are ratings boosts or reductions, it would be nice to see those shown in the rosters during a game. Would be even nicer if any ratings adjustments were shown on all rosters outside of games.

All-Madden cheats for the CPU.
All-Pro is fair.
Pro cheats for the User.

I play on All-Madden for the challenge but with the sliders in the Users favor to mitigate some of the cheating.

Re: What is the best way to differentiate difficulties?

I feel like the CPU knows what plays you pick (although I haven't played 18) so when you audible you automatically get a good gain. I think the AI should calls plays based on the formation you come out in + what quality players you have (ie 2 WR 2 TE but one is Gronk so you have an extra safety to try to cover him).

IMO you should have less time in the pocket as the difficulty increases, and reaction times should be increased for defenders. For the offense, perhaps the QB makes better reads, audibles, and releases the ball more quickly in general.

This is 100% true, and is a huge problem for me. If you want to see for yourself when you’re on the goal line go into 3WR and call a run. The AI will line up in goal line. Next time call a pass from the same formation. No more goal line. I’ve seen this pattern 100% of the time. If I want to run it I call a pass and then audible and walk into the end zone.
