I only use it when throwing goal line fades, and, if you practice your ball placement in practice mode, can be very effective throwing to a big receiver.

I never use it in any other scenario though.

I rarely use it. I only use it on plays I know I need the ball a certain place, and know what route I'm primarily focusing on.


For instance I Form Tight Goal Line Fades. I hold RT and set my primary receiver to my wideout. After snap I use the target passing to try to drop the ball in the back corner of the endzone. I tend to be much more consistent at getting a 50/50 jump ball for a tall/spc cth receiver.

I rarely use it, by try to do it in situations where I feel like I need to be more precise.

I find my WR's are typically relatively open to the point where I feel like I don't NEED to use it anyway.

I run more than I throw and when you have Julio Jones, well, just throw it up to em.

.... so you have to press 2 buttons?

Seriously though it's not for everyone. I haven't touched madden in a few weeks but enjoyed using target passing for goal line fades and for throws where I have to fit the ball behind one defender but in front of another.

If I was ever going to use it, it would be so I could alter someone's route on the fly when I see a giant hole in the defense and my WR is running towards the coverage, but I don't have the stick skills to do that

I hit L2 once by accident and threw a backwards pass....lol. That is the extent of my experience with this feature.
