Itís random. You were just unlucky. Unless he had a story that gives him a chance of slow Dev, in which case you were mad to take him at 5.

Re: How To Scout Development Traits - Infographic

So in my current season I didn't have an All-Star MVP, but had two 'All-Star Great Performances' and one 'All-Star Poor Performance'.

The 'poor performance' player dropped two rounds from 1M to 3M.

Both the 'great performance' players did not change in their previous round projection. One stayed at 1E and the other at 1L. Perhaps that is because increasing a full round in projection would make them #1 overall? Perhaps we only see players 2E and later with positive draft stories move up into the 1st round?

During the Offseason Stage 2 (Combine week) - I had a 'good performance', a 'poor performance', and then one I wasn't sure about. I classified the 3rd one as 'poor performance' because it mentioned a RE lacking burst around the corner. That player was originally projected 2E with a talent of 3L. But now that player is projected 3L with the same talent of 3L and is a 'green' prospect now. But I suspect that player will have Slow development. Maybe because of some other players moving out of the first round that player had been projected 1L and dropped 2 rounds?

During Stage 3 of Offseason (Pro Day) - I had one 'good performance' and the player remained at 1M projection, one 'lack of conditioning' and the player dropped a round in projection, and one I wasn't sure about. It mentions 'weight and see' and the player arrived overweight. I don't think this is lack of conditioning though, but maybe 'poor performance'? The player dropped 2 rounds though from 1M to 3E (accounting for a couple slots makes it 2 rounds).

I also noticed that most players that experience a draft story will have their archetypes change.

I had a One Cut HB change to Powerback after suffering a 'major injury'.

Had both a LG and C change archetypes with Season 'record breaker' and 'good performance vs rival stories'.

Had a 4-3 Run Stopper change to 3-4 Run Stopper after a Combine 'Poor performance' story.

A LOLB change from Prototype to 3-4 Pass Rusher with the 'record breaker' story and that LOLB also dropped in projected round due to the archetype change. First time I've seen a player actually drop in the draft with a positive draft story.

Had six safeties with positive and negative draft stories and they all changed archetypes.

Re: How To Scout Development Traits - Infographic

So I had an early first round LT that wasn't a great prospect before week 14. Now week 14 he gets a draft story about him laying down a bunch of key blocks to get the victory. I think this is the "Season: Great Game" story. He went from 1E projection and 2M talent to 1E projection and 1E talent. He was already fully scouted, so none of those skills changed. But obviously his OVR went up a bit for his talent to change from 2M to 1E. Also changed his archetype from Balanced to Pass Blocker.

Something i don't understand, is that NY Giants QB Davis Webb was the MVP of the Senior Bowl last year AND the son of a high school coach, but was only Normal Development for his initial season. I know it turned out that he didn't play a down in real life, but shouldn't he have been a Superstar?
