I almost think that waiting for John Madden to die so they can do waht they want. Just like Ubisoft did with Tom Clancy games. You know that there has ti be some simulation for maddden to put his name to it

Coaching carousel.

It's ridiculous that we don't have any type of mode that allows you to be an O or D coordinator for a lower tier team like Cleveland, New York, or Jacksonville, and work your way up to more prestigious jobs like New England, Dallas, etc. eventually getting that big time HC offer with a lower tier or struggling team.

NCAA 14 perfected this & "coaching legacy" threads pop up daily.
Coaching Carousel is an absolute necessity. However, without the implementation of coach ratings or any kind of feature that makes coaching matter, I think it is more of a cosmetic addition.

Coaching Carousel is a must, but with that, coaching needs to make a difference

I like this place so I'll refrain from saying what I really think about the direction of Madden's franchise mode.

Pissed off is the PG version. I'll stop there.

NFL won't allow it for CFM. If they can't wear it on Sundays they can't do it in CFM.

That stinks. Such an easy and fun thing to implement. I wonder why the NFL needs that much control, I understand concussions and suspensions not being wanted but come on

This was my thought exactly. I have no doubt that we’ll get in upgrade in this area next year but it will be yet another hollow experience that will be nothing but a cosmetic feature which is exactly what franchise doesn’t need more of.

Every time I hear/read something like this, I can't help but wonder if this is true, how in the world did they get the relocation cities, team names, and uniforms approved?

Painstakingly, I imagine. I'm not sure if this is still true, but at one point in time the NFL was digging as far down as approving / disapproving individual tackle animations in these games.

There's a funny anecdote about NFL Blitz somewhere on the internet about this process, actually. The gist of it was that Blitz originally included far more violent tackle animations during development. The devs' intent was - and what actually happened - to overwhelm the NFL and to get them to flag a bunch of the worst tackles for removal. They correctly anticipated that the more mild but still very violent animations - the German suplexes and whatnot which ended up in the final game - would get to remain in the game because they comparatively weren't as bad.
