"One Game, One Goal, One Community" is a ridiculously bad goal.

The blocking in madden is absolutely terrible on a visual level and what visually makes sense, it's super binary block or not, the pocket is not dynamic it predetermined animation to get c pocket, end and tackle are tethered to together in an animation, which should not be the case. It not so much miss blocks and miss assignment that happens, it's the it looks and moves that you can't react to what it happen because 1 sec a guy that looks to be getting block will tigger block shed animation out of nowhere. APF 2k8 does a fantastic job with blocking, players have leverage, you can react to what you see, and there are plenty of miss assignments and block in 2k8, but it's the look and feel that make it work so well

On Clint he probably knows what he's doing, but it's trying to relay on what he wants to the programmer that is tough they think differently, Madden AI probably works well, it is what is happening visually that doesn't work, over half the time you don't expect that outcome or animation to play out like that.

Even IF they had the penalties etc...
To be fair, Madden still plays a bad game of realistic FB not to mention no atmosphere...
and still after all these years.. 4-5 games in... it's stale as crap.
Simply no life IMO.

You could read a block in all pro and consistently make a user input based off of that visual illustration.

The only time I ever had problem reading a block on that game was when the linebacker had the "run reader" ability (LB would aggressively attack the gap on a run play in a way an average LB in the game couldn't).

And that wouldn't upset me because the LB was obviously special (maybe 5-10 guys in the entire game could actually do it). It forced you to adjust accordingly. Sometimes you had to avoid running to the guy's side if you didn't have a clear #'s advantage. In Madden your FB or Guard will just ignore the guy, in All Pro it was visibly clear that the LB just beat your guy to the gap.

Somebody brought up an excellent point. Madden is a football simulation, not an NFL simulation.
