Madden is SO CLOSE to being a GREAT GAME...BUT
...They still need to iron some things that still haunt this franchise.
1 The physics effects seem like they havent really gotten tighter over the years since it was 1st introduced back in Madden13. By now, I would think that the sense of tackling, movement, interactions, and all around dynamic immersion of real bodies hitting each other would be so much further than it is now.
Players still feel rubbery, and interact like soft oily marshmellows rather than 250lb+ physical bodies colliding. By comparison, even the 1st Backbreaker game had a much more grounded sense of physics and the feeling that anything can happen. Leaping, getting your legs taken out from under you, getting tripped up, etc. All felt much more dynamic and immersive. And this was in its 1st version of Backbreaker. I just think Madden's physics engine should be much further evolved than it is now
Madden animations and outcomes still feel a little too repetitive and scripted as if you know the type of hit and outcome that is going to result at each moment but with just a little extra dynamic wonky EA ignite leg and arm contorting at the very end...not very immersive imo
Also play calling and team and player tendencies need to be further developed. Its like all teams follow 1 single scripted play calling AI. I expect so much more
And finally, why dont the Weekly Schedules have team records in parenthesis??? Its so much cooler looking and easier to see key matchups on the weekly schedule screens if they included it like this:
Seattle Seahawks (7-3) at Denver Broncos (4-6)
What do you guys think?
