What advice do you have? Upgrading from ps3 NCAA 14 to ps4 Madden 18

Make sure you keep NCAA/PS3, you'll want to go back to it at some point.

Wholeheartedly agree. As someone who’s had the game since August, to the OP...you’ll either be very underwhelmed or impressed depending on how much Madden you’ve played over the past few years.

There’s honestly not much of a jump forward from 17 to 18, except presentation. The game looks nice but plays less so.

I'm an old school guy. Been playing since 92. Seriously playing starting around 2000. I was really deep into the "madden mania" community. Now, I haven't played Madden in about 3 years. just looking to jump back in since the wife got be a ps4 for xmas.

You have to read a defense a little bit now, unless you have it in a lower difficulty. Try the defensive angle camera. It's a load of fun.

Just went up from PS3 to PS4 myself.

I've enjoyed the game quite a bit. I have my frustrations, especially when it comes to playing defense. The camera angle can be raised, which I only just discovered. I still have trouble playing defense but it's helped a little. Same with running the ball.

NCAA 14 is a better overall experience.

Madden 18 until they drop a fix for what patch 1.08 (don't want to get into details but as a single player offline franchise player, unless you are ready to do roster editing just to get a game to work properly) is not where you want to be.

Wait till patch 1.09. Trust me.

And even after that. The depth and immersion of NCAA 14's dynasty mode destroys Madden Connected Franchise Mode. Couple that with far better CPU QB AI on NCAA.

I gotta tell ya. yes...it is dated compared to the visual feast for Madden as well as the better passing mechanics and running game etc. But NCAA 14 still holds up so strong because of the sheer variety of team personalities!!!

Every team on madden plays almost exactly the same.

Again.....stick with NCAA 14

112 teams to choose from, a robust Dynasty Mode, immersion and challenge taking on 1 and 2 star programs. Customization with schedules and conferences.

It slays Madden 18

Now if you want to dip your toes in the Madden pool. Pick up Madden 16 for under 10 bucks and play a version of Madden that actually has decent CPU AI. It's not as pretty as Madden 18 and there are some elements that are sorely missing (formation sub menu outside of in game and off-ball injuries). But CPU QB's play far better and penalties actually work as intended.
