If only NCAA Basketball 10 didn't have the freezing issue, I'd play that game, too. It was similar to Live 10 and the gameplay was solid (although there was an issue with getting CPU players to pass out of the post, but you could fix it with roster editing).

Still boils my blood that EA got away with never fixing the freezing in the game.

Dude they have gotten away without fixing a lot of things on their sports titles!

The PS2 era was the last great era for EA sports games IMO. You had Madden 2005 and MVP Baseball 2005.

It was amazing.

Now we have The Show series and NBA 2K18 and we can still play NCAA 14, Madden 16 (which is still a heck of a game and the pinnacle since the move to the CFM model gameplay wise).

It boils my blood though because 18 is a great game save for an incredible ugly bug that I am just seeing way too much. That pancake bug is seriously bad. I don't know how some are not getting it as often as I am. I play totally simulation style as many of you know. That bug has reared it's ugly head on average 3-4 times per game. It's bad. It is a game breaker for me personally.

If they fix it.....I will pick up 18 again. But make no mistake. 18 is my last Madden. I have lost all faith that EA will allow their developers to make a football game with passion for the offline franchise player. We are being cut loose.

No problem. Se La Vee.

They also never fixed the bug where the CPU, after passing to the paint.. never passed out.. Always shot.
I agree the game play was fun though and I enjoyed it, but that bug bothered me too much.

Seems every year they shout about something to make a group happy (separate tunes for sim and competitive..what a joke.. ie.. LIE) then it's excuse after excuse... "We've gotten feedback this is what people want""...

Seriously.. they are a joke.

No doubt, man. I'm still playing Madden 16 and 17. I stayed away from 18 and glad I did after reading about all of the issues. I likely won't even download the game when it goes to the EA Access vault unless all of these bugs are cleaned up.

It's not just offline sim guys that are frustrated with this game. I've seen a good number of videos with competitive online players that are fed up with the Madden gameplay experience. Something has to change, but it's up to EA. Damage was done across the board with 18 and the state it was released in and the state it continues to be in 5 months after release.

EA can't keep doing this to the consumer. At some point there's going to be a mass exodus from the series.

Armor I PMed you as well. What settings you roll with on NCAA 14? I got your Madden 25 settings already.

omg i loved mvp baseball!!! madden 05 was amazing too..

here is ur think it for the day..

both those games on ps2...and gave us create a stadium features...

yet madden now only gives us the same crappy pre built stadiums every single year...pre built unis....we get zero customization..

1 thing that really bugs me about madden because im strictly a sim franchise player is how inflated their ratings are...

we got a scale of 0-100 yet it seems like 95% of players are rated between 70 an 95..

average length of an NFL player is what.....3 years??

if sooo many players were truly as good as a 75 ovr would indicate on a scale to 100....that lifespan woulf be sooo much longer.

it takes soo much out of the realism aspect...players are just given high ratings....and what's worse...they dont matter...

there still is zero benefit as a user to running the ball with gurly or zeke vs a rb rated in mid 70s.

same.goes for qb..

they really need to fix their infalted ratings and make them matter.

I worked at EA Tiburon QA for Madden 2003-2005, some good times and some seriously dedicated QA guys, not only testers but leads. I had Ian and Ryan as leads, man we all loved football. Think you can tell with that 2005 version how it all reached its pinnacle.
