Re: Madden 18 Thresholds

More info on zone coverage thresholds which will help you fine-tune your offline rosters. This has all been confirmed by Rex. Chk the video as well.

Zone Coverage
89 and lower - Reaction when ball on the way
90 - Once ball leaves QB's hand
91+ - Once QB throw animation begins

Re: Madden 18 Thresholds

What do the TAS, TAM and TAD thresholds actually do? Sorry if I'm being stupid.

Throw accuracy short, medium, and deep. I think short is 0-10 yards. Medium is 11-24 yards and deep is 25+ yards. I could be wrong on the yardages but it's in that ballpark.

What's interesting is that run block isn't listed. Does that mean it doesn't have a threshhold or does each point matter?

The video review from Gutfox was definitive. It has to do with the running animation and EA not account for height. The same running animation is used for all players of any height. And due to this the taller players get a slight advantage from the way the animation works.

I know about that part, but the thresholds themselves? So what does having 81 TAS do that having 80 does not? Or 82 do that 80 does not?

Two identical stat WRs both running hot-route flys. Did twice to ensure slot didn't have advantage/disadvantage (neither player is on LoS)

Hiked ball from goalline, so over 50 yards the 7'0 player gains roughly 2 yards over a 5'5 player. (at 90spd, agi, acc)

-- note: did not edit weights, so those could in theory also have effect.

Weight doesn't have an impact. It has all already been tested a couple months ago.

Heck, you won't even need to touch the QB accuracy slider or many other sliders for that matter. Confirmed thresholds by Rex are posted by the MUT community are down below.

Confirmed Thresholds:

Zone Coverage: 80 - 90 - 91
Hurdle (Agility): 80 - 85 - 90 - 95
Juke Move: 65 - 78 - 90
Spin Move: 65 - 79 - 88
Trucking: 65 - 70 - 90
Stiff Arm: 65 - 78 - 88
Spectacular Catch: 80 - 85 - 90 - 95
Finesse Move: 90
Power Move: 90
Route Running: 75 - 91
Height (Inches): 5ft - 5ft8 - 6ft - 6ft4 - 7ft (Height affects Speed)

Speculated Thresholds:

TAS: 81 (Confirmed <89 for sure) [Edit: it's 81 according to multiple pro players]

TAM: 85 (Confirmed <90 for sure) [Edit: It's 86 according to AKG]

TAD: 90 (Confirmed >88 for sure) [Edit: It's 91 according to AKG]

PRC: 90

STR: 91 (0-techs only)

CTH: 75 (Defensive players only)

PBK: 90
Nice thread by the way. Glad someone consolidated all of this. Couple questions.

What exactly do the thresholds for Route Running do? Are there animations triggered while running routes? Is there a smoother one at 91?

As another poster asked, what exactly do the throwing accuracy thresholds mean? Does it have something to do with the catch type triggered by the receiver thrown to? Or is the QB's throwing motions faster or something? Different throwing animations?

What happens at 90 PMV/FMV? Are there pass rush animations that don't get triggered ever unless a pass rusher has 90+ in either of those?

What exactly does the Play Recognition threshold at 90 mean?

And finally what is triggered at 75 catch for defenders? Is it a better catch animation so they come down with the interception more often? I've had defenders spin around trying to make a catch in their direction instead of jumping up and catching it normally. Is this because they don't have 75+ CTH?
