Ok, I should have said penalties are limited. Point was, sim is much different vs competitive in Madden.

Competitive is all about head-to-head competition and tournament play. This is where user stick-skills are king and certain outcomes will be heavily weighted based on game situations and ratings thresholds. Penalties are limited, there are no injuries, and random outcomes are rare. Executing gameplay mechanics and making the right reads dictate success when playing Competitive. EA competitive gaming events and ranked online game modes will be set to this style by default. Be ready for some trash talk, for this is where the Madden hardcore reside.

I heard an interview which was posted here, and I believe done by a forum member, where a question about target passing was asked which involved wording about how unused the mechanic has been, and the answer was, if I recall correctly, in agreement that the implementation of target passing was not a success.

Regardless if target passing is used much or not, target passing is in M17, and thus if a fix is required, it does need to be addressed.

The competitive mode community was happy something was finally done.

Target Passing is a much bigger issue my guy, everything should be fixed for sure but posts like these are laughable.

That actually ruins the intent of target passing.. A QB targets an area in the field based on routes that designed by the coordinates. If Brady throws to an area on the field and he is intending for Edleman to catch it but Gronk has a better read on the ball, I hesitate to think that he would let it go because of Bradys "intention". I only used target passing because the double option to choose a receiver in a cross route. This has to be the dumbest thing I've read when it comes to any patch for any game.*

Target passing enabled a game breaking glitch that made the hail mary play crazy hard to stop. If you think something like that isn't going to end up getting fixed, one way or another, I don't know what to tell you.
