It's always a new "motion/animation" tech, the problem is the same ole animators. Tiburon followed Fifa into Frostbite and y'all was so happy. The problem was frostbite still looked like ignite and ignite look like its predecessor. They need talent more than tech at this point.

I can't agree with this more. Something is off when it comes to madden's animations/movements. From Mo-cap to the game something goes terribly wrong. We need some freshness injected into that area of development.

What are the odds of being able to swerve all the players with zero actual foot planting, weight, momentum, etc. taken into account?

As far as I am concerned, as long as psychic defense exists in the game, not a single deep dive, announcement, whatever will help.

Smooth animations, custom draft classes blah, blah, blah, will not distract me from the fact that I am regulated to using the same 6 plays because of psychic defense.

This. If the game still does it’s own thing with warping animations and psychic players moving based off of button presses and joystick movements then rpm is going to be a waste of time and resources.

My understanding is momentum is definitely at play this year. Defensively a player straffing left won’t be able to quickly get back to the right with no speed loss like we currently see. You can change direction but there is the deceleration then re acceleration you’d expect which stops the one man LB defense taking away the whole middle of the field.
