This definitely deserves its own thread and I like the earlier release. Plus September is stacked and 2k, COD, Battlefield and Red Dead is just around the corner so it's a smart move by EA in my opinion.

T.O. Was last on a cover of a football game that was released super early. Madden came out on August 9th that year. August 12th or later ever since.

In the Madden 19 features revealed thread and so far, similar comments, but, it's up to the mods.

Like SeaTowner mentioned, probably the reason is to get a jump on the other major releases arriving in the fall.

This is back to the old Madden release when it was early August. I much prefer this release so I can get in more seasons before the super bowl...

An earlier release is great news, and I was surprised. I never remember it being released before the last week of August, or before say 8/20.
