This is mainly an online CFM discussion. Anyway, who else is planning to trade half their roster to acquire Lamar? I honestly think he will be the most electric QB in Madden since 04 Vick. Hell I would trade Adams, King, a 1st and possibly even Rodgers but that cap hit would kill....I would just build the team from there. Not finding another 95 speed 92ish thp QB in a draft.

couple things...

for starters, he isn't going to be 95 speed. It will be 90 at best, and honestly it will probably be more like 88.

Also, if archetypes and the skill point/xp system turn out the way it sounds like they will, the n i don't think his value will be much different than any other young QB. From what i've read, and the theories i've seen, It sounds like developing a player will be based on their archetype... which means developing his accuracy might be more difficult than most qb's, unless the league has jacked up xp sliders or allows users to play cheesy.

If that's all the case.. I wouldn't bet on his value being too crazy for any sane user.

Meh, QB accuracy would need to be nerfed in general before that becomes an issue, and mobility >>>>> everything else when it comes to Madden QBs. Once you've forced the D to use a spy on every down they are either rushing 3 or only have 5-6 in coverage.

If the game plays at all similarly to 18 then I'd expect Jackson's only real weakness (when controlled by a user) to be THP. He may not have the arm strength to pull off the various one play TDs.

couple things...

for starters, he isn't going to be 95 speed. It will be 90 at best, and honestly it will probably be more like 88.

Lamar has a strong arm. Just isnt that accurate deep. But I have seen him throw ropes between 2 defenders and hit a wr in stride so he can make just about every throw it all comes down to consistency...And who knows with the draft share feature we may get a wider variety of players. It seemed like every fast TE ended up being a 1st round pick. Were no athletic freak TEs who were more of a project that you could find in the 2nd or 3rd. And every fast QB with poor grades had like 84 THP. Every good mobile QB ended up going top 5 in every league I was in. Would be nice to see a QB with A thp C+ sac C mac who ran a 4.5 for instance...also would be nice to see Newton style QBs 6-5 runs sub 4.6 with good truck and str...

They only gave him 88 speed in MUT when draft happened so I doubt he gets anything higher then that..although in cfm u can always edit his speed but im not touching it.

Esp when u have qbs in game that have run the 40 in same time rumored as him and are only 88 speed.

Lamar is faster than RG3 who came in at 92 speed. And he is definitely faster than Tyrod and Mariota who both have 88...

Honestly, I would put a bet on him not being over 90 at most.

As far as why the ravens would want to move him.. well, if you aren't a big mobile QB type of player, than his value could be nice for someone who is, and that team needs a lot of help cfm wise. In both the sim leagues i've actively participate in, guys like cam and tyrod almost always get traded away. And 9 times out of 10 they always end up being average performers at best. The only difference right now is that lamar is a rookie so he stands a slightly better chance. Honestly though, i don't expect him to be much more than either cam or tyrod have been.. trade bait for a user who thinks speed is more important than accuracy.

Shooter said he thought he was about 4.3 flat...he's the main ratings guy so I think Lamar will AT LEAST be 91 SPD / 91 ACC. May be like 90 SPD and higher ACC like 93.

My guess OOB is 91 SPD, 92 ACC.

I don't want to be the Ravens in CFM (I play solo), but I do want to be in the AFC North. Super fun challenge twice / year for a decade likely. Probably running with Browns, love the young talent, cap space, and scheme.

If you play online you better get the Ravens, because all the online cheese players are gonna want them and it's gonna be ugly. I can see it now, every play will be a pass from the shotgun formation followed by a roll to the right and either a pass to a wide open guy or they will just take off and run with him. Of course before that at the line before the snap they will hot route every receiver to go that way with their fastest guy going deep.

Whether he is high 80's or low 90's speed does not matter at all, the point is everybody will want to use him and use him the same way online.

JFC PUT A SPY ON THE FIELD AND SEND HIM ONCE THE QB BREAKS THE POCKET. 95% of the people you play who try to abuse a mobile QB will have their offense boxed.

As an actual fan I would never trade him no matter what was offered. Lamar is the Ravens offensive attack going forward. I feel sorry for the online leagues where Ravens fans don't get first dibs. I think everyone else should probably just have fun with Lamar in offline leagues and play.

I'd have serious reservations about the type of users who would trade a King's Ransom for Lamar, or vice versa, in an online league. Just feels like bad news and is very unsim.

The most effective way to use him or the Ravens isn't going to be the cheesy way though. It's going to be the way Greg Roman and company will, the system that worked for Tyrod and Kaep for a while. Going heavy relatively often, two TE offense, focusing on the run game with Collins and also dialing up designed runs with Lamar. Then using Lamar's run ability, as a threatening constraint on the pass defense to get easy reads and soft zone coverages.

Going to hate everyone else playing with my team just for Lamar

Though I will love using the actual scheme to devastate opposing defenses who are expecting "Cheesy Lamar", specifically those cheesy Ravens users.

I don't even play online so it doesn't actually affect me, but I still long for the day when the gameplay and AI of Madden gets to the point where the 90 plus speed QB isn't automatically a player that so many H2H players salivate over.

Maybe with RPM and other improvements this year, the Madden "Michael Vick" mindset can finally die an ignominious death.
