People will adjust. Thats also why we have different difficulty levels for the newbies to play rookie and a dumbed down CPU. Ratings should be the sole factor in coverage and 1000% agree not a universal change to it. Fingers crossed as it's my number 1 game killer every year along with CPU play calling a close number 2 (but that got some love and we will see how much love it really got)...

What happened to Sim-Competitive-arcade settings? Shouldn't that take care of this? I'm getting sick and tired of the "need to nerf for casuals/newbee's BS". Have they really done anything significant with these settings?

I like that Smitty covered that the running animations look legit, even if the walking animations are not perfect.

I would like good animations all around for immersion, but in play animations trump in between play walking animations. I assume the walking will be address after the core animations are cleaned up.

Why would they nerf man coverage to make it easier for newbies - surely it's worse at the lower degrees of difficulty anyway...? Why can't they leave it as is for All-Pro and All-Madden? Newbies shouldn't be able to play on those difficulties.

If I'm on All-Pro/All-Madden high level coverage players should play like they are high level coverage players, that's the whole point. It should be a challenge. If people want to win all their games/have guys come open relentlessly play at lower difficulties. If minor tweaks are required because no one gets open at all fine, but let's not have another year of the best coverage players being rinsed repeatedly simply because players don't want to adjust to the players on the opposition. You should have to adjust to a Patrick Peterson, Bobby Wagner etc, especially at the highest difficulty levels

I agree. WR/DB interactions should be tuned as realistically as possible on All Pro-Sim Mode. If inexperienced players are having difficulty, simply play on a easier setting whereas EA could tune down coverage at the lower levels.

I think you missed the context of nerfing man coverage. According to Clint, it is nerfed in relation to where it was in this cycle, not in comparison to previous Madden's. Now with that, it has always irritated me when people that develop a game with ratings talk about nerfing something as if it is some across the board thing. The ratings should do any nerfing, but that's my take on it.

I'm always of the mind that players need to figure it out first and once they do, then see if any tuning needs to be done. I'm pretty sure there is someone who already has it figured out. There always is. I really hope they don't start listening to a lot of people.

Run game is too OP, this play too OP.
. Let people figure it out first before changing things. A lot of times things are OP because people want to sit in one thing. But I digress.

I believe this is the case, from people who played an early build Man was really good in Madden 19 and I think he was saying they were bringing it down from where it started this dev cycle. I know from people I talked to man was playing almost too well early on certain routes that man should beat. As he said they are going to watch it and see how it plays out going forward and adjust as needed.

As far as attributes and tuning, the thing is attributes simply tell how well something plays inside the scope of the mechanic itself. They are tuning the mechanic to play better so the attributes should stay the same even as the mechanic changes because the rating is relative to the other players not so much the mechanic.
