To this day, I believe having"confidence" in the game was EA's way of getting around the NFL giving them a hard no on a player morale system that would portray some players in a "negative light" by making them cause trouble in your locker room.

I also wonder how much the league's approach to branding in games has changed since Roger Goodell took over as commissioner. When Tagliabue was still commissioner back in the PS2 Madden days, it seems a lot more was allowed to be in the game.

Ok he said how to get a replay from a game that never actually happened. Wasn't this done on the first Madden on C64 or whatever system was first?

😂😂😂 and you have to remember this is a league that fines it's layers for ' sock infringements ' let alone insisting on testing players for marijuana despite the only thing that can come from this being adverse publicity

The NFL got upset that someone made a Pink Raiders Jersey? Boy oh boy the irony. If you go to the Women's Jerseys on NFL Shop, they sell a variety of PINK JERSEYS like this one of Russell Wilson. Oddly enough, I couldn't find any Pink Raiders jerseys for sale on NFL Shop

The hate the NFL but love football.

Between their Susan G. Komen breast cancer awareness greed and donating a fraction of the proceeds and them charging the Department of Defense for military appreciation month I cannot stand what they have become.

Their greed and scandals are driving a wedge between themselves and the fan base just to make a little more money and make themselves look a little better.

The NFL restricting EA to certain features that may "tarnish the shield" is much lighter version of how they tried to sweep the CTE findings under the rug because they don't want people to think less of the League.

I for one have a hard time blaming EA for Madden's shortcomings when it was the NFL that gave EA the exclusive rights in the first place. EA promised exclusive content working closely with the NFL, however we have been given more restrictions since that time.

EA has certainly let us down with Madden at times, but we need to remember that it was the NFL that put us where we are at today.
Look no further than the relationship 2K has with the NBA, and ask yourself why does the NFL and EA not have that kind of relationship.

Not Madden related, but quote from that article:

Quote:
When you look at a game like NBA 2K17 or 2K18 and examine their simulation engine, it is capable of producing unique and organic highlights for simulated games.

If you use the slower simulation engine in NBA 2K, it will generate highlights that you can go back and watch after the game. Once you leave that game, those highlights are gone. The simmed game is taking place in the background from an elevated camera view, and its game speed is turned up to expedite the process.
Is this actually true? I've been playing 2K forever and I never knew this was a thing lol
