Difficulty Levels.

I've been out of the Madden game for quite a while. I used to play it religiously back when NCAA Football was around. Each year I always peek in here, check out Madden videos, etc. and consider getting the game. This year I think might finally be the year that I break. I may end up getting it for the first time in years. However, with that in mind I have a few questions, primarily about difficulty level, for those of you who have still been in the know for years.

I used to play the game primarily on All-Pro. I felt like that was the level that gave both me and the PC an equal playing field. I remember getting too good on All-Pro back in Madden 07-10 and eventually dabbling in All-Madden. The problem that I always had with All-Madden was two things. First, it seemed like the PC just got attribute boosts, often making the game very unrealistic. I remember being caught in the open field by PC players that were easily 10 points lower in speed than my ball carrier. That was almost a deal-breaker. The second thing was the PC QB accuracy was insanely high. I could never go a game without giving up 300+ yards.

So my question is, what level do most of you guys play on to get realistic results? As always, I'll be playing with the Chicago Bears, which back in Madden 03-07 was good because they were a good team. Now, however, they're horrible, which honestly, is part of the intriguing part. I want to have to build them up and don't mind taking a few bruises my first few seasons.

If I play on All-Pro I don't want to go 14-2 and win the Super Bowl my first year with the Bears. I am, and always have been, about realism. I want to play the game as realistically as possible and have a challenge.

Any tips or advice here on which direction to go would be much appreciated. Of course, I guess I won't really know until I get the game at try it out.

I'm looking forward to getting back into football. It's been far too long. I love franchise mode for many reasons but especially for the fact that in football I can get through tons of seasons.

Difficulty Levels.

Difficulty in Madden really hasn’t changed in years. If you haven’t played on current gen, it may take some time to adjust to the speed of the game but once you get it you’ll be going 14-2 again. All Madden still gets the boost and doesn’t play a realistic game.

This is always one of my biggest gripes with the game. You will likely to implement house rules like no switch, limit hot routes, etc. Then you may want to increase sliders on All Pro.

Re: Difficulty Levels.

So on All-Madden do most of you guys feel like the CPU gets unrealistic boosts?

Re: Difficulty Levels.

The big question I’ve always had not just for Madden but all sports games is, what exactly changes when you change difficulty levels.

Everyone seems to have their opinions but we rarely, if ever actually hear from a developer explaining it. Do CB’s break on the ball sooner? Are CPU players just given a certain amount of attribute boosts? What changes? I just think it’s all speculation unless we hear from developers. I would love to know though.

I sim a lot of my games. That makes sure i don't go 14-2 with a bad team.

Not a good solution for me. I will play every game.

Re: Difficulty Levels.

You could use play the moments for half of all games as well as a way to stay more realistic

I play the moments in the playoffs. But skip the moment i am ahead. You can't just sim a playoff game by advancing the week. You always lose.
