Hopefully they will honor it, but the biggest variable here is will they actually even have the game on the 2nd?

I worked at Walmart many years ago and sometimes they didn't get the games in until a day or two before release. There were some that came in maybe a little less than a week early but that was about as close as they got.

Also, Walmart has put game out early by mistake and when you try to buy one it won't let you purchase it.

It may have changed by this point, so I'm not sure.

Also, we need to think about what EA would have to say about this. Unless they have a deal with EA to release the game early I just don't see this happening. And there is no way a store as big as Walmart would break the street date on a huge AAA title.

I'm not trying to piss in anyone's oatmeal. I'm just very skeptical.

But I guess we'll find out in a couple days.

No, they don't have to honor the date. In their fine print you will find language similar to most retailers that alleviate them from fault for anything caused by system malfunctions, typos or errors. This is similar to cases where system glitches sell things that are worth hundreds of dollars for pennies on the dollar. The reason they do this is a simple typing error by a single person or even disgruntled employee can cause mass chaos so they insulate themselves with this.

lol.. you can bribe Electronic employee for money then he allow you to buy it on August 2 without know lol. just kidding. i don't think they allow anyone to buy it early and play it while EA Access begin on evening of August 1 or 2 for only xbox one and PC

Yup, they don't have to honor anything, especially something due to a glitch.

Anything involving a street date will not be honored just FYI.

As a former retail employee with knowledge of why, short answer is fines and ability to lose the option to sell the game at release in the future.

If their system in store says the 7th, they cannot and will not override that. That is a big no no in the retail world, you never override a street date, and honestly, most systems won’t allow you to override it.

I got Xbox Live early by two weeks on a manager override but then again that was, of course, a long time ago, LOL
