XP needed to level up skills

Is there a set number for the XP you need to get to unlock skill upgrades for each player? Also anyone know if the progression ratings or age affect how much XP is needed to gain the improvement points?

Not that I have seen. Madden favors certain gamers to get the game early so there are very few franchise guys in game now.

Okay, I haven't seen anything posted about it yet. I do know that scheme fit guys get a ton more XP throughout a season. Just wondering how that corresponded to actually improving those guys. It will be worth moving say a d-lineman reserve to another position for a year or two to get more XP over the course of a season, then moving him to his permanant position later on.

That's literally not true lol. Anyone on Xbox or PC has access to the game.


I haven't noticed a set amount yet but i haven't tested it either. Upgrading players with the new system feels amazing. Got one defensive dude's speed up last night too from an upgrade and that would've taken longer than a year to do in previous games.

I love the randomness. I upgraded guys probably 15 different times just because of simming through preseason and getting all that training xp and every time it was different. That's so much more true to real life and i really appreciated that a lot. Really looking forward to digging into this game hard once they fix the lighting issues.

I like the new system and dislike it at the same time. XP is easy to get off big games, just follow drive goals and everyone gets big gains of xp. I dont know where it says the amount needed though. It’s a lot tougher to trade this year so getting players with your scheme will be a challenge. Either get lucky in the draft, tank and miss a lot of xp for your team, or give up a lot to trade for one. Had to trade a first and third for an 84 ovr RT that fit my scheme.

I upgraded a LB with as little as 2K but had a WR with 5K and no upgrade. Both rookies

Can’t wait to play franchise mode and see the changes. Hopefully it won’t be too easy to create monsters in a couple years.
