Re: Changing playbook to fit your scheme in Franchise

There a handful of vertical zone run playbooks. In addition, yeah, the game does a nice job of actually describing each playbook to you when you select it. IE: Saints is I believe a multiple power run offense.

In addition to telling you it's a multiple power run offense, it says something like "utilizes a mix of short to intermediate passes and also utilizes both zone and power runs" to give you a small primer of what the playbook looks like.

Unfortunately, you can't pick a non-default playbook. IE: when you're setting your scheme, you can set a spread scheme but you can't set up the default spread playbook. You've gotta choose an official team playbook from that menu, which seems... like a major oversight. If you want a generic or custom playbook, you have to select that before you jump into a game under "advanced options."

Thanks for posting the full scheme and player archetype tables. Just to confirm, if I want to have a 4-3 defensive scheme but change my CB archetype to man, that is not possible under the current setup? If I want man, I must choose a 46 scheme?

Re: Changing playbook to fit your scheme in Franchise

Unfortunately, matching your playbook to your scheme is entirely useless and irrelevant, as the two are not linked in any way. The scheme you choose only affects how your players progress - it has nothing to do with your playbook. Choose your scheme based on the best overall fit of your team (the one that yields the highest grade) because that means that your players will progress at a faster rate. I've only been playing Play Now during the EA Access trial, but if I remember correctly from the CFM beta, the Patriots best scheme fit was "multiple zone run."
