Quarter Minutes

I'm trying to figure a good quarter length that will give me a realistic amount of plays. What is everybody using right now and are you using accelerated clock?

Re: Quarter Minutes

In the past when i've enjoyed speeding through games so i can play a lot of seasons in cfm I've done 4 minutes no accel clock and it's been solid. This year 4 minutes is way too short. I'm going to be trying 5 minutes, but i'm assuming 6-7 may be a better option. I'm not an accel clock guy at all.

Re: Quarter Minutes

I can understand that. I like to take my time and make pre snap reads so I use a lot of the play clock.

Re: Quarter Minutes

Each team should get about 6 possessions per half or 12 each for the game. Start from there and get a feel. So far it may need to be around 8 minutes based on the two games I played this morning.

Re: Quarter Minutes

I try to aim for 120-140 total snaps, I haven't done extensive testing but if I don't run out the clock that can usually happen with 10-11 minutes with 18 second run-off and accelerated clock.

Re: Quarter Minutes

I do 13 minutes with accel at 15.

Each team gets around 50-55 plays.

Re: Quarter Minutes

I usually run 15 minutes with 13 second accel to get a decent snap count. I used to be able to play them in about an hour. Last night the games were taking closer to an hour and a half. Too long for me, I can't take it versus the computer. Personally not sure what to do to find a balance.
