I do not post to often, but read a good bit on this forum, and this post just hits home. Many times heading up to GameStop for the midnight release. Or the long searches for NCAA to get it early.

Yes. I’m with you old timers. I did this since 2001. The thrill of it is no longer there. The game use to offer new things as well as new animations which brought me back year in year out. Also the fact that it had competiton. Now there are none. Maybe were just being old and irrational about it.

I remember in the early - mid 90's the new Madden wasn't released until November, right before the holiday shopping season.

You're right, I remember going Christmas shopping near Black Friday when the new John Madden football 93 came out for Genesis back in the day...

We are lucky as hell now to not have to wait until football is half over to play

Man o Man, the memories of the threads on here and the old MM of people saying this store was releasing it early or sightings in this part of town etc, were some of the best most exciting threads of the year. Also built up the excitement where now the release day is here and I was like ok, nice to be able to play tomorrow after work.

One thing that would help my excitement for the game with all its flaws is a release on the switch. Im in love with that console and being able to take my franchise modes wherever I want would be awesome. After a long days work lay in the bed with the wife and she watches one of her shows while im on the switch. I can spend time with her and game at the same time.

So many of us have already played the game. I don't see there being much hype for the "official" release.
