Anyone else seeing bad DB play?

After pre-seaosn and a few game into regular season, I've seen my DBs play very poorly.

1: Standing still and rotating as the WR runs past and then chasing
2: Following the WR in the endzone and then just standing with his back to the QB and never reacting again.
3: Slowing down near out of bounds and letting the WR make a play.

Here small video of just a few plays, but I'm seeing this multiple times a game.

Yeah I just had it happen in my game where the CB followed my guy to the end zone but then just stood there with his back turned to the QB. Did you send the video to one of the devs?

Not for the cpu, just played franchise Steelers(me) vs Ravens(cpu). Big ben went 12- 31 w 3 tds 2 ints but the ravens had 14 pass deflections. My steelers had only 1 pass deflection. Same as last year too many deflections for the cpu. Cpu dbs closing speed to the wr are far greater than the dbs i control.

This is killing the game for me on PS4. I had the game on origin premier since it released and havnt noticed this, however its been happening on PS4 since i played yesterday. Noticed it when a slot wr runs an out, the cb in man will stand still so the wr can get open.

I only saw it a couple of times and it was always the slot corner who just "froze" for about a second.... I never saw it @ X or Z.

I had this happen to me last night. PS4 Pro, All-Pro difficulty, default sliders, zone formation, playing defense. The cornerback just froze in place while the receiver ran past him for a wide open touchdown. I hope this was fixed in the patch they released today.

I agree the CPU's closing speed is ridiculous. Throws that would be easy completions in previous Maddens are now getting deflected and sometimes even picked off. You literally need to be able to drive a bus between the WR and DB to have enough separation for a clean catch.

Best bet is to send it to Clint and the rest of the Devs and hope they take a look at it

Also, what are the ratings of each of the players? Sometimes guys just get burned, and failure to execute never looks good in replays, but it is an essential part of simulation football.

Because while that looks bad, overall, DB play is freaking great this year.

Edit: Just go into another game. Ball is on the 7, playing man.

1: The TE runs into the end zone and cuts out, LB stops on the cut, breaks down his stance, waits, then runs after the TE

2: The WR runs into the end zone and cuts in, CB stops on the cut, breaks down his stance, waits, then runs after the WR

                            All on the same play

But that is the issue I mentioned. Failure to execute always looks bad, especially in replays. People underestimate how hard it is to animate a failure to react, being in the right position, or just flailing on a play. When you slow it down, it looks awful. But we need guys to get beat.

On a side note, that is an issue in real life, too. when you use a slow motion replay, our minds recognize actions as more intentional. It makes a hit look more vicious and mean. Slow motion makes sense you are trying to see if a foot is in bounds or a knew touched the ground. But when refs use replay to decide on the severity of a hit, it is way off.

So when the behind the scenes dice roll shows that a guy got beat, the game has to, on the fly, animate his failure to make a play. It might look wonky, but it makes sense.

This is part of the uncanny valley effect of sports games now the the graphics are so good. Failure looks terrible. But you cannot have a simulation without dice rolls making a player fail a % of the time.
