It's funny this thread come back. I went back to 2017 OOTB just this week. By far the best madden. Tackling is soooooo fun now.

I thought Madden 17 gameplay was fine. It didn't have anything that M20 out of the box doesn't have, and I really enjoyed the pre-patch gameplay of M20.

Franchise, though? What did they add? "Big Decisions," which is a wholly useless mechanic. XP Goals, IMO, was a terrible addition.

Franchise Mode has been stagnant since 16 dumbed down scouting, imo. 20 is a step-up in how it's approached improving gameplay, but I'm not sure I can justify anything between 16 and 19 as being the best Madden ever. Not if you're a franchise fan, at least.

Yes, me as well.
I have a 1999 roster I finished in December 2018.
It is in the vault.
I have position specific, tiered ratings by player skill.

Couple this with custom defensive playbook in CFM, and it is just missing Madden 18's graphics upgrade.
Tackling and simulation stats are so very much better.
Yes, tackling and physics ..... great.

Tackling is terrible when comparing Madden 20 vs Madden 17. Can I get a witness !!
