Re: Poor offensive line play

Should I block the DE who's directly in front of me and attacking? No, I'll give him a free pass and think about blocking the slot DB who's dropping into coverage.

So 315 that Bench presses probably over 400 lbs when he shoves a 180 pound guy, that guy is going to basically not really get impeded and keep running. Ok. I'll still stick to the claim. The OL are soft as damn tissue in this game. I would have preferred he not even touch the guy if this is the result. It's a damn disgrace.

It amazes me how bad the ai line logic is with an ex professional lineman on the team. No weakside blocking as well or guys rub shoulders with the defenders like there not even there and let them pass on by.

Clint mentioned he saw some OL issues he is looking into. We'll see. The AI logic needs improvement, last year was better.

And that's SAD.

Well he did get impeded. He got shoved back a good 3 steps, the issue is he was then just able to run around the tackle, which is still poor O-Line play. The tackle didn't even try to adjust. Not every time a tackle shoves a DB should be an insta pancake. I agree there's issues, but this particular clip is far from a strength issue, it's a footwork/awareness issue. I guess we will just agree to disagree on this one.

I'd say at least 75% of the sacks I give up are on screens and play action passes. Screens because the RB's constantly run into the lineman causing their passing icon to disappear temporarily, and play action because the tackles just don't block anyone like in the clip. The AI blocking logic gets all kinds of messed up when you run play action. Apparently the testers just never called these plays.

He played in 2 games during his lengthy, two year career. That should tell you something.
