One big thing that bothers me, why doesn't the ball carrier use his arms?

I know football is a game of inches, but it bothers me that they never stretch out for a first or a TD. Even going out of bounds and try to hold the ball out for that extra foot that is the difference between a 4th down or a 1st. Something we see a lot on Sunday yet hasn't made it's transition to the game yet. I know we can dive, yet it isn't the same as being tackled getting that extra little bit.

They do, unfortunately it's animation based and not user forced.

Yeah there's a new animation I've noticed this year where the ball carrier will stretch his arm out, but it's completely random.

Because the cpu can not recognize where the first down marker or goalline are. So, the best they can do is have them do it occasionally with no regards to the circumstance.

I haven't seen it yet, but I would think it would be tied to awareness trying to get that extra bit with a lower chance of the ball being knocked out. Maybe the refs(computer) is too perfect. I like the element of human error in football, and if it was placed in the game would addso much.
