Just experienced the most painful franchise loss in 20 years of playing Madden

Played a full season with the Bills on 12 minute quarters. Had the difficulty and sliders locked in where i had a nice 11-5 season (3 losses early). Made it all the way to the Super Bowl.

Got up 17-3 in the first half. Held scoreless in the 2nd half. Of course, the CPU managed two late TD drives where they were unstoppable.

Got the ball with 49 seconds left on my 20. Perfectly orchestrated a drive, and used a 2nd down play to line up a 39 yard FG attempt, called a timeout with 4 seconds left.

Blocked, returned for a TD, ballgame.

I don't complain about rubber banding, or forced losses, or really anything. But I cannot remember a FG being blocked in the last few years of me playing. Certainly not a single one in this year's iteration. Felt like a giant F-U to cap off an otherwise truly enjoyable season.

Now, if only the commentary would occasionally talk about that soul-crushing superbowl loss in your next season...

Bills losing in the superbowl in heart breaking fashion is probably the most realistic thing I've ever heard in madden lol

Go ahead, it's the consumer's right to complain after being cheated like that!

So far the most outrageous thing to happen to me in M19 was an 80 yard hail mary by the Rams on the last play of regulation to send the game into overtime. It was a rivalry game so I wasn't really surprised. Maybe Goff has the clutch rating ;-)

I think it was Madden 2002 PC... I lost the SB on a chip shot FG that I choked on.(I was so nervous I choked with the controller lol) Yea it was my fault, not the game's fault but still it was gut wrenching.

That is a hard loss. I do not like the blocked field goal mechanic. I believe it to be nothing but a gimmick. Of course, we can say that such events do happen in sports. Just difficult in a game because the game is not real. It's a conundrum.

When I play MUT, there will be certain "win" scenarios such as preventing the CPU from scoring a FG, and of course they make the attempt, and the goal of the scenario is to make the block. Without fail, the game will allow the free release to block the FG and all the user really has to do is to time the block attempt itself. Just too much of a gimmick.
