Defensive highlighted man just stands there

After I choose the defensive play that I want one of the 11 players will be highlighted. I know that's normal, but what isn't is the fact that when the play starts he just stands there. I have to move highlight to another player for him to activate or move him myself. Keep in mind I have not taken control of any player at any time. Has anyone else encountered this issue? It's really irritating when the outside receiver is streaking down the sideline waiting for the ball because the CB is just standing there like a door nail and I didn't see it because the side of the field gets hidden at times.

Yes, it's very frustrating! I always make sure the highlighted circle is on one of my d linemen, I haven't encountered it with a d linemen. It happens with the corner for sure and also a linebacker.

I encounter the same thing. If I switch to a d lineman, it doesn't happen. This has got to be a bug. I big one if it is happening globally.

hold L1 or LB while the ball is in play, your selected man will either cover his zone/stick his man/blitz, whatever his assignment is he will do as long as you're holding that. You can still use swat, tackle, hit stick while holding L1 or LB.

This works on all modes except all madden

I believe it does this unless that player is rushing the backfield. I guess the computer is planning on you manually covering that player’s man/zone.
