Brees is a great qb but his stats are also high because for many years he had over 650 pass attempts per season.

As I said, one of those 5000 yard seasons, two where he led in yards, two where he led in touchdowns and one where he broke the completion percentage record, came DURING Kurt Warner’s career.

Warner retired after 2009. By that time Brees had: led the NFL in yards twice; led the NFL in TDs twice; led the NFL in TD% once; broke the NFL record for completion percentage once.

So that argument doesn’t really apply as Brees’ dominance overlapped with Warner’s career.

as has been said, the number of pass attempts tells a story and run/pass balance. brees is good, as is brady. brady is the greatest of his generation but you cant compare those two with montana, rules were different and the game was because of it. montana was the greatest in his era.

Nah, maybe Rodgers, but those other guys were just the WRs who happened to be lined up against by Ward, Mabin, and Colbert. Instead of raising those guys, significantly drop the 49ers defenders who consistently blew their assignments.



Rodgers gets credit for great throws, though, so he should bounce back up (until injury rating starts counting for overall, he should remain at the top).

Kurt Warner didn't get to play in the era of defenseless receiver rules, nor did he get the two seasons with a "point of emphasis" on illegal contact and defensive holding.
