Play Action Passes Broken?

I've had decent success with HB screens. The key is to not throw them in predictable screen situations and to run them away from high awr DE.

I've had great success with wr screens. Just ran a bubble screen last night for a 12 yard gain. The A.I blocked it perfectly.

WR screens have been far more successful this year than anything to the RB.

PA passes are great in my experience!! Yes, sometimes I do get sacked on them but for the most part it's a big play. There's sometimes where as soon as the ball is snapped I'm tapping the button for the receiver I want to throw to because if I don't I'll get sacked because it's an all out blitz. Those work out well in my favor.

Has anyone tried shifting your O Line to 'max protect'?

Also, what about out of, then back into the original PA play? I remember a couple of years ago I could do the double audible trick and it would nullify the automatic, mind-reading defense.

According to frosty tool, I think the hidden minimum rating that fixes play action passes is 90 for the QB... I say try a game where both guys are over that and see what it kind of effect it has

I don’t know if this is coincidence, but the only time I struggle with play-action is when I’m not running the ball well. It works fine early in the game and later as long as I mix up my play calling and have success running the ball.

Yes, there are times I have to get rid of it quickly, but as long as I throw with anticipation when needed I have a lot of success with it.

On All Madden with pass blocking anywhere from default to 0.

I think it just requires more strategy to pull off now, but usually results in a big play

PA passes aren't broken at all; you just have to know what you're doing. Pre-snap reads are vital as is knowing when it is appropriate to call them (Pro tip: calling them on 3rd and long is not smart). As others have stated, it works better when you actually have a run game to be feared and also when you run PA off of run game concepts you've previously been successful with.
