Yup, there is a bead few years where you have real players left and the commentators keep talking about 2017 as if it's "today". It only stops when those real players are gone.

No, I’m talking about playing online head to head (not MUT). Was using the Bears, opponent was the Steelers. They were taking about the Steelers beating the Bengals last week. They are weeks behind talking about what’s happening now.

NBA 2K 19 does this too and it does get annoying. There should be some trigger that deactivates various audio files based on things that happen in game.

Comments about how a team hasn't had a 1000 yard rusher since year ____ should be turned off once they accomplish this in game.

I will say though that sports games lead the industry when it comes to real-time speech based on what happens in-game. Commentators discussing milestones that a player hit in a previous game like throwing for 3 TDs or 3 INTs along with relevant discussion is pretty impressive. I mean Red Dead Redemption 2 received all sorts of praise for the NPCs being able to react and talk about what the player does in-game and but in most cases its based on a limited triggers and the dialog is fairly generalized and its all based on the actions of 1 character. The NFL has thousands and in a multi-year franchise you'll produce all sorts of stats and situations that just can't be translated real-time.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think you're downloading the latest commentary pack in the front end. It comes every week - like Tuesday or Wednesday. If you don't download the latest, then the last one you downloaded stays in the game....even if it's a few weeks old....
