That's a thought...I've done that for 5th-year options on first rounders that really should be picked up, never thought about it specifically for QBs. Then again, I'm not arguing too hard in this particular case....any time I play a non-KC franchise, I always sim any games against the Chiefs just so I don't have to play against them (I'm that kind of fan), but I have to admit, this time, I'm thoroughly enjoying using Mahomes to punish them for their stupidity.
There really should be a "building block" toggle for individual players, that tells the CPU to do whatever is necessary to retain a player. There are feasible workarounds, so it'd be strictly a quality-of-life thing, but I bet it'd make a bunch of folks happy.
