Playcalling strategy

What is your playcalling strategy in franchise? Trying to find a way to call a good gameplan and be realistic and not abuse the cpu.

Playcalling is an extremely important element of football. I find that calling plays situationally by installing a set gameplan can be extremely beneficial, especially on 3rd down. I've attached a link to a write-up I did awhile ago that I hope may help you out.

So are you saying in that thread to create a custom playbook of only 60 plays?

Oh no, not at all. However, the gameplan that I bring in to each game is only 60 plays. My actual custom playbook is over twice that size.

So do you have more than one 60 play gameplan playbook?

Just one right now. I usually simply overwrite my book as I add and remove plays, rather than building a new book. I used to have several, but only one uploaded right now that you can use a template to work it the way you want.

Re: Playcalling strategy

I develop a play call sheet on my computer and reference it while playing. I just use a default playbook because playbook editing has done nothing but cause headaches in my experience.

I don't go by 1st and long, 2nd and medium, etc. references though. I have different situational and play style categories I use for an entire drive.

For example I have a pro style sheet primarily based around Singleback and I-Form formations and running the ball with short passes and play action. I'll use it whenever I'm playing a head. If I'm trailing I use a score quick sheet that's a lot of high % pass plays like slants, screens, etc.

I also have 3-6 plays per skill player where if I want to get the ball to a specific person, I can call one of those plays.
