Re: GridIron Notes: Superstar X-Factor Players & Abilities

"5. How many positions will be supported with Abilities?

In Ultimate Team, all positions will have Superstar abilities. For base rosters and H2H, offensive line, kickers, and punters will be the only positions that DO NOT have any abilities available."

I'm not surprised that there isn't any Off. Line abilities. But at the same, I was hoping there were counters to DLine abilities.
I can understand Kickers and Punters. But I could have seen Coffin Corner as a good ability for CPU Punters. Where some punters are good at angling punts out of bounds and able to pin in within 20 yard mark

Very weird. The animations that played out using the "bulldozer" ability in 2K8 were the one of the coolest parts of the game.

Just off the top of my head you could have:
-Finisher: Lineman is great at finishing blocks through the whistle.
-Communicator: Lineman is exceptional at helping backs, TE's, and other linemen at blitz pickup
-Wrecking ball: Lineman makes athletic blocks in the open field.
-Recovery: Lineman recovers after getting beat by initial move.

I am shocked there are no OLine skills. How can they claim every skill has a counter? How will you counter Kalil Mack pass rush? Please tell me they do not consider Tom Brady's skill that makes the OLine play better a counter.

Maybe the counter is with RBs and the ability to assist in blocking.

This is a good start to making players actually feel unique.* I would think the only way to counter a pass rush from superstar players is to double team him.

After reading I had to tweet Clint and ask so we have some clarification.
Hopefully he will shed some light on the question.

Yeah, I give EA a lot of flack, but I can't see them actually leaving OL out like that. It honestly would make less than no sense... like negative sense

This whole things stinks of... "Our ratings don't work ... sooo lets come up with Superstar power up abilities NFL Blitz Style because people want 80 yard bombs!" Just ridiculous how bad they are making this game. Like I don't think they could come up with worse ideas.

Maybe the code IS THAT BAD and they have no choice, or maybe EA is one of the WORST COMPANIES *on the planet with how they treat their employees and customers... It's most likely both.

My hope is that the Loot Box Bill passes and EA is forced to stop stealing from kids, employees, customers, and finally forced to man's up and make a game that's worthy of the NFL brand and a game that sells itself without all these gimmick microtransaction crap.
