Haven’t heard anything from the beta about special teams. Did EA put any resources into fixing bugs and realism of the kick off and punt return? Anything different this year on field goals? This is an aspect of the game that is woefully neglected in the past

I don't remember anything being different. Onside kick alignments still seem like the pre-2018 alignments before they changed the rules. I could be wrong because i didn't pay a ton of attention to it but it still looks like one side is overloaded in a way that isn't actually allowed anymore.

They seemed to have fixed the weird short punts and even more importantly the cpu return game was amazing in the beta. Nothing new on kicking mechanics for the user but the other aspects of ST play were very good. It was a long overdue and underrated aspect of the beta in my opinion.

I don’t know if this is indicative of any work done, but I did achieve a punt return touchdown while playing the beta.

I can’t remember the last time prior to that I got a punt return touchdown in any other Madden game, lol.

I did as well with Tareek Hill..

One thing I hate though that they need to fix is the camera angles on returns being too zoomed in. I do switch to the outer cam sometimes but I also sometimes forget.

There needs to be a special teams camera.

So I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a definitive answer, but what does the Return stat do for a player?
