I know they weren't there in the beta but I didn't even notice until someone mentioned it. This is a non-issue for me, I would rather the devs be working on things that matter than getting better looking refs in the game.

I can see how this move would be critiqued, but there's something to be said for admitting a thing looks bad, taking it out, fixing it, then putting it back in when it's right.

Sometimes you gotta make calls that will bring you flak in the near term to ensure success in the long term.

And I can't front: I didn't notice they weren't there in the beta either.

Excellent post Trojan. I like the idea of EA wants to get things right first approach. They're trying to improve the game of taking out an eyesore.

No idea why people are patting EA's back for taking out something that's looked ugly for years instead of wondering why EA went years without touching up the refs in the first place, bringing us to the situation where they are so badly outdated they just get removed.

"Oh, we haven't improved this aspect of the game in a while? Ah, let's keep kicking the can down the road. If we take the feature out, maybe no one will notice it's gone!"

Honestly.. until they can actually have them properly move on the field.. become a part of the field and actually throw flags in real time.. no need to have them in.

No idea why some people appear stressed and obsessed with a stranger's opinion that differs from theirs on the interwebs, no matter where that opinion lands.
