Madden Suggestion: Make Kicking Harder on Sim Mode

Default power hasn’t changed with the times. Now that more kickers have enough power to casually go for 56 yarders, it needs a change. I boost the slider up to about 60-65 nowadays.

Kicking needs to be revamped and also make kickers a bit more important (specifically with accuracy). I’d like having the left stick flicked back for the snap and effect the snap/hold and then flicking forward for the kick. The snap would have a decent amount of leeway if it’s kind of off center but the kick would be a lot more sensitive for more challenging accuracy. But it’d be nice to be able to add a little human error in to the long snap.

I've found the accuracy slider to be essentially useless.

It should just be like a golf swing in The Golf Club. The problem with their right stick mechanic they used to have is it was too wide of a bar with no penalty.

I think a right stick mechanic is good. I also think a meter isn't horrible. There should just be less room for error, situations that make kicking harder, or require a perfect kick.

I have no objection if Tiburon made kicking more mechanically interesting, be it by adding an option to disable the kicking arrow visual entirely, adding snapping and holding game mechanics, changing the controls, adding a "sim percentage" option, or whatever else. I also recognize that sometimes kicking field goals in Madden is too easy (and certainly historically it has been pretty easy).

That said: NFL kickers are basically automatic at or within 45 yards nowadays. Per Pro-Football-Reference, kickers made 93% of such field goals last season (and also 92% in the 4th quarter and overtime within that distance). Outside of 45 yards, kickers made 65% of their kicks in 2018 (and 63% in the 4th quarter and overtime).

I'd like us to keep that in mind while we ask for changes to kicking. The margin between good kicker and bad kicker in the NFL is pretty slim and, unless the kicker is well below replacement level, that margin basically only applies at distance.
