Do any of you have any tips or tactics for pass defense vs. the CPU. It doesn't seem to matter what defense I call the CPU seems to constantly gain yards through the air on me. I play as the Cowboys, so it's not like I'm using a terrible defense.

Re: Pass Defense?
All I could tell you is it’s better to run man. The computer gets torched in zone for me. Also I don’t know how you play but it’s best not to play on the DL all the time. Play LB sometimes to stop the easy cross the middle routes or RB routes especially if you’re in zone. I just play all over the field.
CPU will still do pretty well against you a lot of times. CPU on high levels been somewhat tough to shut their passing game down for some years now.

Re: Pass Defense?
I'm still having success in zone using the same plays as last year: palms, quarters, cover 9, cover 6, cover 3 cloud, cover 2 sink.
You can still get pressure with four. I'm actually getting most of my sacks/pressures from the interior. Cam Heyward and Stephon Tuitt put in work. If the QB tries to scramble most of our plays will have flat zones waiting for him. No spy needed.
If I can't get through with four and I'm in a situation where I can't give the QB time then I'll resort to one of the five man zone dogs. I typically prefer ones that send a DB as the extra rusher. Again your interior rushers will be able to shine, because if the blitz gets picked up at least one of them is 1v1.
The only thing I changed is my main formation. Big Nickel Over G has some alignment bugs right now so I can't use palms out of it. To compensate I switched to Nickel 2-4-5. The default alignment is very nice and show blitz will bring both safeties in the box while maintaining the two high look which is perfect for the plays listed above.Comment

Re: Pass Defense?
Check replays, your defenders are probably moving or pausing out of position to defend the pass.Xbox Series X: KILLMUNGERComment

Re: Pass Defense?
Man press...cover the most inside receiver manually and press him at the line, especially if it is a TE. Zone is a little tougher but its key to get pressure. Lower the CPU Pass Block slider a bit if you need to.Comment

Re: Pass Defense?
Also, use audibles. If you're in a zone and they have been killing you screens in certain sets, switch to man.
If you go man and they come out in a 4 or 5 out set, go into a zone.

Re: Pass Defense?
I guess User control is my only tip. You can rely on the CPU to do it but you know better than the CPU. User controlling a Safety is definitely a challenge and if you are out of place , your CPU will burn you. But the satisfaction is knowing you are the one suring up some the coverage.

Re: Pass Defense?
Just hope that u can outscore them, defense is tough in this game, I usually let the CPU pick the defense and I adjust accordingly. Also I have reaction @ 5 and pass coverage @ 99.Comment
