Madden 20 Deep Dive: Scenario Engine

I am in year 3 and have exactly 1 scenario question come up. Am I missing something?

Are you playing as an owner or coach? You get far less scenarios playing as an owner.

That's why you haven't seen really any scenarios. I'm usually an owner mode guy myself but this year I am playing as a coach for the scenarios. I like owner mode because then you're more like the GM and can fire your coach when you want a scheme change. Oh well I guess this year I'll start off as the actual coach of the team I'm running with then retire him and create a new coach when I "fire" my coach.

It is a bit of a unpopular thing to say, but I do think the quality of the actual programmers at EA is a little low.

But a note: They hire ex-football players as designers but I don't know that they do so for programmers. Those are different roles.

I think the major shortcoming of the scenario engine is the fact that they failed to first build up the underlying morale system. They dropped the scenario engine on the preexisting morale system and then just tried to adapt on a as needed basis. Its a bad approach to take.

Still haven't seen the beat reporter after wk 1 of the preseason in QB1 or my CFM. Finished year 2 in both. Scenario Engine is 100% a joke.
