I can't be the only one with endless crashes

This game won't run for more than 15-25 minutes for me without crashing. Goes blue screen and asks if I want to report the error. I've had one freeze in a franchise game, otherwise always complete crashes.

I've deleted the game and reinstalled once already and still crashing. No other game on my playstation has issues with crashing but this game is 100% unplayable for me, because I'm not going to continue restarting every 15 minutes..


Anyone else having issues? Anyone have any feedback on how to remedy the issue as I would like to continue with my QB1 see how it goes.

I had this issue a couple years back. It was a nightmare. Funny thing is I downloaded a corrupt playbook. I didn’t know that and took it to geek squad and everything. If you downloaded anything, delete it. It can very easily be the culprit.

I've had one repeatable crash so far when trying to edit the appearance of a player with corrupted save data from an imported a custom draft class. Importing the class a few times repeatedly fixed it?

The football gameplay itself has been absolutely stable for me so far, however.

Digital Copy, I don't buy physical anymore.

i went with the re-initialize the PS4 route. So we will see what happens when I reload everything. But i guess it's possible that the download of the game itself was corrupt

It is weird because sometimes I feel like I am on an island with some of these issues.

I CAN NOT play offline franchise on this game. Every time I start an offline franchise and set a name and save it, I can not reload it. When I try to reload it, the game crashes and forces me to restart the entire game.

I have been playing offline Madden franchise for 15 years, and I can not do it for this game. I have reinstalled it and tried almost everything.

Like I said, when I bring this up it seems that no one else is having this issue and that I am the only one, can that be possible?

I had this issue last year with M19 on the PC... consistent crashes. Sometimes right away when the game engine loaded, sometimes after a quarter or two of playing.

IIRC, the fix was to disable the in game Origin overlay. I'm not in front of my gaming PC at the moment, but I don't recall it being too hard to find in the Origin settings (not within the Madden menus, but the Origin application itself). This probably doesn't apply to the consoles, but only my children ever touch the PS4 or XBOne, so I have no idea either way.

No idea if that's still the issue, but probably something worth trying if you are on PC.

So I reinitialized the PS4 completely. Did a complete wipe and restart.

Redownloaded Madden and got the same error and crash right away. So what does anyone think is my next plan of action since clearly my version of Madden is corrupted.

I don’t have a physical only digital download and it recrashes every time I delete and redownload.

I’m pretty pissed off right now

UPDATE


Game still broken. Reinitialized the PS4, redownloaded crashing still. Deleted all saved data from the first original load (I never downloaded any rosters or draft classes, just had settings/QB1/Franchise saves) but deleted all of it, and reinstalled from the beginning.

Still crashed right away. Absolutely brutal. Chatted with EA customer support and got nowhere........

Out of curiosity and in a spit-balling attempt to help: how old is your PS4, and do you have any crashing problems with other games (particularly other EA games which run on the Frostbite engine just as Madden 20 does, such as FIFA, Battlefield, or Star Wars Battlefront)?

If the crashing isn't isolated to Madden, it could be the case that some component in your PS4 that Frostbite stresses to an unusual degree has failed, and the entire system needs to be replaced.

PC version? While it doesn’t seem common there does seem to be a subset of users experiencing frequent crashes. I thought I read a thread about it on Reddit.

I’m in the same boat. It happened as soon as the last patch hit. I’m a little disheartened by you being the only one Seth, but at least you’re somebody. Maybe by the time the season starts, there will be another update that fixes it.

Unfortunately I don't play those other games, and haven't loaded a FIFA game in a year probably.

I have just kind of given up.... might try to contact someone at EA again, maybe get a refund and just wait for Doug Flutie to come out and rock some college football
