Played Seahawks as Steelers in my CFM and I had 3 fumbles lost all caused by Wagner. In the fourth Quarter when I was protecting a lead and trying to run the clock out. All three fumbles were with my using the cover up mechanic. There is a problem with the OP hit stick.

In the 4th quarter, did you put coaching adjustments with running on Conservative? I'm assuming you didn't do that since it wasn't mentioned.

Once Wagner causes 1 fumble, you really need to stay away and apply strategies(coaching adjustments, running away from them, etc...) until his xfactor doesn't go to the orange color.

For a player who has forced 4 fumbles in his career?

Nah...this is a game issue.

As others have pointed out, the suction hit sticks are a issue and so are the animations, but you can avoid fumbling with the tools in the game.(and per Clint a fix coming soon)

Nah, just offering advice to avoid high fumble numbers before the fix comes out. That advice has helped me because I'm not seeing such a high rate of fumbles as others are reporting.

Certainly a game issue. That doesn't mean we can't try to mitigate it.

That's always the problem with Madden and the way they implement things. It's great to have x-factors and have players make a difference finally, but the way it's implemented is just not realistic. I've also learned to not expect realism from Madden. Always sim ideas with arcade implementation.

Why is it automatically assumed that ball carriers should be protecting the ball as a matter of course?

I'd rephrase that as why would it be assumed that ball carriers ( esp RBs) wouldn't be protecting the ball as a matter of course ? See Tiki Barber / Tom Coughlin etc
