Brackets are achieved via pattern matching zones. That should be clear just from reading the list of checks that were given for the Pat's game plan against Kelce.

He isn't being doubled by the same two defenders regardless of where he goes. The player responsible for helping changes based on Kelce's release. That makes it a zone.

And you conveniently ignored the links to a cut-up of them doing that exact thing.

speaking of coverages, i forget which madden it was, but does anyone miss the coverage assignments? i forget the proper name for it but, for example, you could have your #1 cornerback cover their #1 receiver no matter where that receiver lined up on the field.

That actually returned to the game a few years ago.

Re: There Should be a Double Cover Feature

The problem is the safety in cover 1 just sits in the middle. He wont cheat to a side even if there is only one receiver on a deep route. So any deep outside routes in cover 1 are always 1 on 1.

Jaire Alexander is becoming a lockdown corner. Jaire and King shut down Diggs and Thielen vs the Vikings.
Kirk Cousins shut down Thielen and Diggs, both were actually just as open as they are every week all game

That’s actually the way the safety is suppose to play it in cover-1. Cover-1 means just that. Everyone is one on one. Doesn’t matter if it’s one wide receiver. His primary job is no seams and no posts. He covers numbers to numbers.

You want anything covered outside that, you want a man under type call with split safeties.

Nah, I looked at the tape several times after the game and Thielen was getting upset towards the end of the game because Jaire was in his grill all the time.

King matched up with Diggs well too.

Not here to change your mind, just stating what I saw on the tape.
