I have played around with this as well. HOWEVER, I notice that the very specific scenario of short catch in traffic is never dropped or jarred loose. Thus if the CPU (and myself as well) will still get absurd completion % if you just throw <5 yds every play, and unless its a missed pass it seems to be a catch every time, including if the receiver gets absolutely demolished upon catching.
