Annoying Panthers Scenario

This offseason is going to be full of interesting decisions for the Panthers GM because of Cam's large contract and a few other bloated issues. Unfortunately these decisions don't extend to Madden if you start a live season because their two players with the worst contracts are locked into injuries that will last until after the free agency period. They have 40 million in cap space that you literally can do nothing about. Why does Madden treat injuries like this? Players in the offseason get cut all the time with injury settlements. Now I'm stuck unable to make any big franchise decisions because of this weird mechanic.

its not just a madden issue, it is similar in other sports games, when the game won't allow you to release injured players.

Its not a rule in real life, I don't know why its implemented in video games.
