Kickoff touchback starting at own 35?

I’ve noticed this a couple of times online. The first couple of times, I thought maybe I was mistaken and I had lost track of plays. But it happened again last night and my opponent started at their own 35 after a touchback. Has anyone else seen this?

Update: this appears to be caused when the kickoff goes out of the back of the end zone and the returner catches it. Has no one noticed this?

Yes the same thing happened to me last night. It was right before the end of the first half, but luckily it didn't end up costing me any points.

I knew I wasn’t the only one.

And before someone says...just let the ball go...I can’t control what my opponent does in an online game.

So my worst fear was realized. I didn’t know this sooner because I hadn’t really played against the AI. This is also a problem in Franchise...I would think the AI would just let the ball go, but NOPE. They catch it beyond the end zone and the ball starts at the 35. EA doesn’t give a damn as long as they have everyone’s money (except those of us smart enough to get it at 50% off on Black Friday).
