So, no matter what evidence is presented, you're going to continue to believe what you believe?

That doesn't do much for the credibility of your original question...it makes me wonder what the purpose of this thread is.

Yall have to start replaying more than just the plays where coverage is blown. There IS a problem in that blow coverages look crazy and are blown by way too much. BUT there is plenty of examples of good coverage. Just like in real life, you don't notice it until a coverage is blown.

I agree with this.

I was streaming a game a few days ago and there was an instance where a WR made a cut or something and the DB made a very poor reaction (like....the receiver was WAY open). I made the comment, "well, that's a route-running win". It's SO obvious when it happens - that's not a broken game or broken coverage - that's RATINGS mattering!

Like feeq said, some of the "win" and "loss" animations are extreme (like the example above or when a QB misses a throw and it's wildly off). But I think they have to be to an extent, otherwise unscrupulous users could have a chance to manually adjust their player and override that ratings impact (which is obviously unacceptable).

I see SUCH a good mix of coverage in this game. But if you're running a lot of man plays, you really should be running a scheme that has man corners specified in the scheme - it definitely helps maximize things. Using in-game coach adjustments to optimize matchups is also key as they can help reduce the number of those "win" animations.

Good comments here, in my opinion. I rarely use the word "broken" since I define that word to indicate that something is radically wrong with a part of the game so as to render it unplayable in my eyes. For instance, I believe it was either Madden 10 or 11 that we could not play more than 3 franchise years without the game locking up. I returned that game for defective credit because it was indeed broken.

When Madden 20 released, off-man coverage was broken.... Plain and simple. It was almost a constant that defenders would cut in the opposite direction that the receivers did. I tested this over and over again. However, what I see now on occasion is a reflection of some poorly done animations to indicate when a DB loses. It is varied, does not always happen and, as you've pointed out, is mostly ratings related.

Broken happens. However, I suggest doing some thorough testing whenever an apparent issue arises before jumping to that conclusion. While I am using sliders, based on a formula I've been utilizing for awhile, the CPU man coverage is nasty tight. I have to be on point and on time with my throws or I am in trouble. I have had countless animations that play out very well. I've had curl routes driven on and swatted away if I was a tick late with my timing, yet be able to drill a perfect skinny post in-between a corner and free safety.

The biggest problem I continue to see with coverage is poor linebacker reaction time. EA tuned this coverage 2 or 3 patches ago and I believe they should have let it be.
