Moving pocket plays from shotgun

Does anyone know of any plays with a moving pocket from the shotgun? I’m way more comfortable in goaline situations only reading half the field, I’ve seen the Bears run them in the regular season and the The Chiefs do it last weekend, but the only play I could find in either playbook is the z spot out of Bunch open TE. I’d prefer no play action.

I haven't run across any true "moving pocket" passing plays. It's something I'd like to see implemented as well. Sliding protection can only do so much. In order for this to happen, overall O-Line and D-Line play and interaction would need some serious work.

I like your philosophy as to reading half-the-field in goal line/inside the 5 situations. Plays designed to scheme a specific receiver open, such as the one you've listed, are essential here.

Yeah I should have worded it better, designed plays where my QB is on the move is more accurate since the pocket doesn’t move. I found a bootleg out of shotgun doubles that has been pretty successful in practice if you hot route the slot to a drag. If you leave him running the crossing route he just stops In front of the goal post. Not exactly what I’m looking for since there is a fake handoff but I might be able to make it work

You can hot route the HB to block and it gets rid of the play action fake.

offshoot to this, id love to be able to pick a play say singleback formation and audible to shotgun (same configuration/play) and reverse. you see pressure and you need more time so drop into shotgun or want to hurry and run change to singleback. kinda like audibling play action in the old days

Id love that, my favorite play to run was levels divide out of shotgun doubles and they removed it this year so I have to run it from under center now

Re: Moving pocket plays from shotgun

I normally do this by blocking an in-line tight end and shifting the line to his side. If there’s a dominant pass rusher, I’ll use the double team feature. Then I’ll roll out as soon as I see the double team secure. Using a WR, HB, and trailing/crossing WR as my targets on half of the field.

Only one off the top of my head is out of Strong Twins - Rollout Smash. Half field read to the twins side with backside TE dragging
