Didn't that used to be editable in traits? Is that something they recently took out?

You used to be able to edit traits. Can you no longer do that?

Re: So you just drafted your 1st rd rocket-armed 96 THP QB and wobble wobble wobble

I've put a few house rules in for scouting and drafting that have made things a lot more random, fun, and well.. realistic. I've simmed a few seasons just to test drafting and I've had only a few great drafts where I land lots of quality picks.. Mostly I get a mix though.. and definitely have drafted a fair share of bust. I'm still thinking of a few rules to put into play to spice things up and keep them challenging. I've been wanting to get input from other players for a while now and seems like this is a good time to do so.

My Scouting/Draft Rules:

1. Four scouting weeks total. Weeks 4, 8, 12, and 16 are my go-to. This also allows some unused scouting points to carry over. Going 4 consecutive weeks will get you a max of 175-200pts per week. (Considering only scouting 3 weeks, with the 4th being a perk if you're out of the playoff picture. Something like Bye-Week; Week 8; Week 16; and Week 17 if you're out of the playoff picture.)

2. Only the first trait is scoutable* during the season. This is just to give us a feel of the players best attribute as well as weed out some of those players we want to avoid wasting points on later.

3. Second trait is scoutable come Super Bowl week and going forward, unless you are actually one of the two Super Bowl teams. Stay focused on getting that ring homie.

4. 3rd trait is not viewable. Period. (Yet!) You're drafting based on the top two traits and combine stats. I'm currently thinking of a way to add unlocking the third trait to the process.. here's three ideas.
[[ 1: All 6th, 7th, and undrafted prospects can be fully scouted (All 3 traits). This could make scouting deeper fun. Imagine scouting an undrafted prospect who turns out to be a potential starter, 67-69 range, and developing him into a serviceable player, starter, or even star player. ]] [[ 2. All players at the position your scout specializes in are fully scoutable. So if your scout is a WR specialist... you can scout all 3 traits of that position only. ]] [[ 3. One player per round are fully scoutable; or perhaps the amount of players to match the round. 1 for 1st; 2 for 2nd; 3 for 3rd; etc ]]

DRAFT RULE:
Do not draft a player more than one round before their projected round. So if its the 3rd round.. you cannot draft a 5th rounder. If its 2nd round.. you can only draft 1st-3rd rounds, etc.) Anything else is robbing the CPU of landing draft sleepers and over saturating your chance to land higher rated players. This cheats the team building aspect, imo.

I also have some really cool Free Agent rules that I use.. to actually make features EA has added matter and eliminate User manipulation of the system.

Let me know what you guys think!

Punk, I am doing something similar w/ scouting.

I'm scouting the top 2 attributes from R1-3, then just the top attribute from R4-7 and the UDFA crop. That leaves me going into the first three rounds w/ just 2 attributes and the combine scores.

I find that if I use all the points and scout all the attributes, I dust the CPU in the draft, which isn't as fun to me as working to be closer to on par with them.

What rules do you use for FA?

Good stuff, thanks for sharing.

Let’s hear about your Free Agency rules.

Re: So you just drafted your 1st rd rocket-armed 96 THP QB and wobble wobble wobble

Lol. I’ve had both situations happen. I think M16 gave me a lefty and threw me completely off balance. I don’t think I knew u could change that through edits, but I found it to be an interesting change. He wasn’t a Vick, but he was a good scrambler and could throw it. Overall, I got a kick out of it.

I currently have the strong arm wobbler in M20. Lol. And yeah, this also grew me off at first. Turns out he got lofting deadeye after a season or 2, so I’m ok with the lack of tight spirals since he throws deep touch passes perfectly. That being said, his short bullet throws are constantly inaccurate. And, when I say, ‘inaccurate,’ it’s more like ‘way the f- off’! Lol. That’s become infuriating. I thought getting a strong arm qb would be great for bullet slants. Instead, I try to time them better with a touch pass to make sure it’s accurate. It still gets there fast enough on most tries. But, I still see the occasional wtf pass if I hold the button too long and he throws a bullet pass 10 yards off target to a wr 5 yards downfield. Lol.

Nope, we can't edit "tight spiral" in Madden 20. Not sure why that was taken away.

Anyone ever have any luck on deep fly routes?

Even when I get separation and lead the receiver, I still get some type of warped animation that makes the DB catch up. Any advice?
