Competitive vs simulation game style for online user league

Question for anyone that has experience playing both game styles for use vs user leagues, or really anyone that has experience playing both game styles in general. What are the major differences between the two? Are there still penalties called and injuries on the competitive game style?

Haven’t gave it a spin this year, but in the past penalties and injuries don’t happen much, if at all.

Yea I can't find it to confirm but I thought I remembered reading somewhere that injuries were removed altogether on comp, and penalties are way toned down if not removed. That's why I'm posting trying to hear from people that have experience with competitive in franchise mode because I've been hearing a lot of complaints in online leagues on how scripted the game feels sometimes on sim.

I switched to competitive and it seems like I have to grind more. Simulation seems too gimmicky. My one con with competitive is I rarely see penalties where Simulation called face masks if I barely touched a player.

On competitive mode that's why theres 3 different modes.

I believe arcade and competitive do not have either of the 2.
