The country will be in full scale riot mode if that happens. And not just because of no sports. But you cannot keep Americans on lock down that long. I'm still of the belief that the governments of the world are using this pandemic as an excuse to control their populations. Swine Flu killed over 10 million Americans alone, just 10 years ago, and the common flu killed 50 million just last year, where was all the lock downs and stay at home orders then?

Fox Sports is having a madden tourney tonight at 7pm est. Nascar esports getting a lot of attention. I would think that next gen consoles would be getting most of the attention as far as game development. Most everything on hold now and I expect many delays, even cancellations.

Your numbers are off. The swine flu most certainly did not wipe out over 2% of the US population.

Unprecedented times.

Don't care if they just give us a roster update.

.. LOL, IF there is even a roster to update.

Madden 21 might get delayed if anything, but my guess is most of what they wanted to achieve in 21 is already in. Most of the Devs have been probably working on it since last October. EA not releasing & missing out on a profit is highly unlikely.

If they have to release Madden 21 later in the year, then you'd think,if they're able to work on the game (because videogames are "essential")that EA would actually use that extra time to improve this year's Madden, actually add more new things. I mean, allowing extra time until release would do wonders for 2k to REALLY fix and improve from WWE 2k20 lol!

Swine flu killed 12,000 Americans, not 10 million.

The flu killed 34,000 Americans in the last full season, not 50 million.

Needless to say, your grasp of reality is slim.

...

Anyway, should there not be a season, or game development is hampered due to this, I dare EA to use this opportunity to take a year off and really rebuild Madden.

They will probably have to limit the game to one or two new features
