Could Coronavirus Impact the Development of Madden and Other Games?

Would the EA offices and buildings in general be considered essential businesses? I was thinking that this COVID thing could potentially impact the development of Madden and other video games in general, if the developers aren't allowed at the offices let alone collaborate in meetings and things of that nature...

They probably had a good amount of it finished by the time they had to stop going into the office, I’m sure there’s a lot they can do remotely too.

Clint referenced this time as a reason for them being able to get the recent patch out. Could mean they're even more productive at home lol. Regardless, it looks like they're still able to get things done.

Yeah they can get most of what is needed done remotely.

My question would be if this pandemic extends on into the summer and season is delayed, would that effect when they release the game. So lets say season gets pushed back a month, would that effect how they approach game

I’d imagine if it lasts that long they’ll want to release it when we’re still stuck indoors. Could potentially help sales compared to if they released it right around when the country “reopens” and we’re all out doing other stuff we haven’t been able to do for months

Nothing has changed related to my work life besides working at home. Deadlines are still the same. I would expect the same for the game industry.

I actually find myself probably more productive working at home (no kids). Don't get pulled into any conversations at the water cooler.

This year's draft and rookies will be completed. The combine was already completed, so they have their information for ratings. I full expect this year's Madden to release without delay. Next year is a different story if there is no CFB season.

Lol doubtful, if anything they would want to release the game as early as possible while people are still home and out of work. It would maximize they money they make on MUT and other microtransactions. If anything I can see them trying to move the grease date UP a month, to somewhere within the first couple weeks of July. But doubtful that would happen lol.
